End of Week 3

We only taught once this week and I think it went pretty good. It was also good to go on our field trip with the class. We went to the BYU planetarium with the kids, and then we went to the world fair there on campus. the kids were able to learn of different dance styles and music, and able to see interestin things from countries around the world. Overall I would say it was a fun and successful week

End of week 2

This week we finished teachin all our lessons. I felt that the one we incorporated the element of voice in worked out really well. the kids had fun making being the voices of different Greek gods in a slide show presentation. some participated really good, and others just read the script they wrote in a monotone voice. We created newspapers and the sudents learned elements of line, and spacing, the newspapers were really creative and fun. Overall, it was really a good week.

Field, week 1

Week one was great. We taught for the first time on Friday and it worked out pretty good. We explored voice and expression while doing voice overs for the different greek gods in a film we are making as a class. One thing we should have done better would have been to practice a little bit more with voice, and we should have given the students something to do when they were finished. some finished early, then were just goofing off and it was kind of a management mess (not completely, could have been better, could have been worse). The End

Visual Arts

Learning from the different artists was great. I think that using colors and other visual arts can really be helpful to a student's learning. It is also great for the students to express themselves. Sometimes, school can be the only place a child has to express him/herself. if they can do it in art, as an assignment, I have done my job. I don't care about grades, I care about helping students reaching their potential

Music

I will definitely use music in my classroom. I love music and I know that it helps me remember things, so it would probably help students too. I love math songs, just ways to remember multiplication tables and stuff. and the best way to remember stuff for history is to put it to music. to this day I remember the preamble because of a song, and also a lot of the presidents (they get a little fuzzy, but I never did it as an assignment, I just learned them on my own). YAHOO FOR MUSIC

DANCE!

Dance is very important. I think that it will be important incorporate dance because it allows students to express themselves in a way that they don't normally do it. It is different from dance classes because the end goal for dance classes are recitals. The end goal for dance in the classroom is to help the class grow and learn. I will use it in my class to do just that

Drama

It will be very important for me to use drama in my classroom. I am kind of a dramatic person, so a lot of it will just come naturally. I know it will help kids perform better when they are having fun and learning to be creative in how they express themselves. I am especially a fan of relaxation exercises. I need to do a lot of relaxing myself, so using those will help both my class and myself. Using drama with the core curriculum will be good to help the kids stay focused. Amen

Arts Class

I like to think. t-h-i-n-k. This class has a lot of potential, but with the time of day and my lack of good sleep I never really want to come out and be crazy. I normally could, but I am too tired, and so is everyone else. I will like to incorporate the arts in the classroom, but I am such an out-there person that it just comes naturally. I am really hungry right now, and don't really want string cheese or an apple, but that is the only food I have. Maybe someone will trade me something for the apple. I hope. This music is fun. I am getting into it.

Teaching Arts

I was in the drama program in high school. I think that teaching the arts is very important. I think that keeping students captivated is key for classroom management, and also for the kids to remember the subject matter being covered in class. Not every thing taught through the arts needs to take kids out of their comfort zone, that is what is so great about it.
